I just completed a two days training course which I felt that I have learnt the summary of principles that can be applied not just in work but in life. Just to share something from the training. The trainer showed us this picture. The explanation with this picture was the ppl from the lower management see assholes when they look above. True for many ppl.

However, what do you think the higher management see when they actually look down? In my opinion, I think they will see shitty piece of work with poor quality. Then the blaming game will start, the ppl at the top will assume that the ppl below is doing lousy work etc etc. However, many failed to realise that they are actually contributed to the shitty piece of work. Also, they are even standing in the same tree. This implies that if one level fails the whole organization will collapse. This situation is similar to what I have read from a recommended book in uni.

Many of the times, various department actually works against their own Key Performance Index (KPIs). They will at all course trying to uphold their KPI scores by pushing blames and responsibilities to other departments. However, they failed to see the big picture that they are working in the same organization as a whole. This may be due to the fact that the effect or losses in a long run is not very obvious and in fact the impact is not instant (fast results). KPIs seems to be faster and easier to see instantly. Hence, this will contribute to a vicious cycle causing the organization to mulfunction in the end. This is hard to change in many organizations because ppl are just so used to the system and it has in fact become a habit to see instant result.

After listening to my dad's couciling, I felt slightly better. I guess he was right. When people treated you mean, you should think through and analyze your attitude or what you did unknowingly rather than to keep complaining. I guess why someone work this way or behave this way is because 50% being her character and 50% your attitude and things you did unknowingly. Maybe, we should stop and think about why he or she did that. This someone has been commenting about people talking bad about of her by whispering in front of her. I know it is obvious the person is me that was mentioned. Okay, I should be guilty. At the same time, I really felt that this someone should analyze what he or she has been doing to the rest that made ppl dislike so much. Though I think i am wrong to badmouth in front of her but that is because I want her to realise or aware. If not, I will fairly well just talk behind her back. Okay, i need to control my mouth but can you please be more sensitive and change too?

Have been working on the final year project, the hardest period of all. Experiencing over time working in the lab from 9am to 10pm. Coping with stress from both the results and the supervisors. Being able to deal with difficult lab mates that are not wish to be remember and meet in the rest of my life. However, the other labmates are entertaining. Many laughters and fun during this hardest period. Greatly appreciated.

It has been two days since you left us. There are many things that have remained unsaid before you have gone. I am sorry but to realise that I have sent too little time with you for the past 10years that you have been with me. There are too little pictures of you and the video of your singing that I thought we had it somewhere with us went missing. I am feeling so guilty now for over neglecting you. It is painful to have lost you and I couldn't get myself to accept the fact that you have gone. I hope you are no longer in pain and will take care of yourself in the other world. I couldn't sleep well these few days. My tears will uncontrollably roll down whenever I close my eyes. I miss you too much. You have gone too sudden that I hasn't gotten a chance to bid you farewell. I hasn't gotten a chance to give you a gentle stroke to comfort you before you have gone. I am sorry for not having all these done before you have gone although I know your days had numbered. It is now all too late. Please forgive me and I promised that you will not be forgotten. You are a brave dog which had fought with your sickness to the end. I know you have endured all your pains or pretend not to be obvious all along just not to let us felt worried about you. You are such a caring dog and we are proud of you. Was moody since Sunday and substantial amount of stress was given in school. Hence, I have decided to stay at home to do my work today. I hope this can help avoid additional stress given by the BOSS and I can work more efficiently. I used to think that a friend like this is hard to find. This kind of friendships feels more like a family member. I enjoyed the days we listened to each others worries and issues. It is nice to have a person lending his or her ears. I can take the fact that people do change from time to time but I didn't expect it to be happen in just a few months. I don't your sympathy? It no longer make feel sound pathetic but makes me feel pathetic. I am experiencing miserable within me. What makes you think you are superior and make me made a fool out of myself. What are you trying to imply by saying all those things? Materialistic? Okay, that's what you thought of Singapore girls which include me. What are you trying to bring across? This product was featured in the eveining Chinese Newspapers which I happen to come across. According to the report, this is a product manufactured from Japan which had a functional claim for bust enhancement. This product is therefore very popular in the cyber market. The cookies contain estrogen (female hormone) which is capable of bust enhancement. The function has yet to be proven but the side effects have been named. This product might lead to breast cancer after long term consumption.

It was reported in the papers that few Singapore teenagers had tried this product as a meal replacement and were down with diarrhea. The cause of diarrhea due to the consumption of cookies was not mentioned. However, this product has not been approved by the AVA to be sold in Singapore. With this incident, it is likely that the purchasing of food items or supplements from the net might be regulated in the future.

What have I done to myself?

It is me to be blame for what harm I have actually done to myself. I cannot accept the fact that I have gained 3kg just within two months not by over eating but under eating! That the faster rate of increment I have achieved in my whole life. I had a body composition analysis through my nutrition practical and realised my increase in weight and my extremely high body fat percentage. What is fortunate is that my bone density is still at the healthy range not not very fantastic too.

After doing some net research, I finally realised what did I do to my own body. Strict diet restriction doesn't help in weight loss....Yes, it will work initially but one will end up becoming heavier than where u have started. Why is this so? Well, a logical vicious cycle theory is what I have concluded from the net resources. First of all, dieting will make you lose weight by depleting ur muscle mass and not the fat component. Which means that while you are dieting, you body loses muscle resulting in the decrease of ur metabolic rate because muscles burn more than fat. Hence, when you return to ur normal diet, you actually eat more calories than what you burn due to muscle lost. And there you go, increase in weight again and you start ur 2nd round of dieting and the viscous cycle continues. Those who have been dieting for a long term might have lower bone density because there is no nutrient to replenish the calcium which in turns being high risk of osteoporosis. In my own opinion, by dieting, the body will be in the starvation mode and when you start to eat something your body will react by converting food into fat for backing up just in case you go on starvation again (self protection action).

Thinking back of those torturous nights with hunger bangs and forcing myself to sleep. Why make my life so difficult and yet gain weight??? The only right thing to do is to modify your diet into the healthy one if you consider to lose weight. Other than that never touch ur diet with very low calorie option. You can only add your exercise to slim down. There is no other alternative. Add but not cut to prevent the yoyo effect of crash diet.

I really don't know if I can regain my health and go back to my initial weight anymore. I am regretting but not sure what can be done other than to increase my calorie expenditure.

What school teaches you

A sudden flood of inspiration made me wanted to update this blog. I have been recently wondered what exactly are we paying our school fees for? Then I come to realized that our fees are more than just for paying the lectures and theories for the subjects we specialized in. Think in depth and you will realized it is actual beyond that.

Our fees actually include lessons on how to deal with people. In another word, how to handle human relations and people management. This is exactly what you have been training for and yet you will never notice it unless something happened to you. You are forced in school to work with different kind of people. Although the range of people you are dealing with (as in patterns) are limited, at least pay to do so. That means you have yet to experience the stress of having to deal with people that cannot click with and yet you do not have a choice because you are paid to do so. Therefore, at this point of time you can still vent your anger onto someone when you have reached the limit. In school, you can do trial and error on how you deal with people you dislike and see the consequences. What you might loss might not be great compared to in a workplace.

In a workplace, many people tend to wear a thick mask when dealing and work with other people. FAKED! Although people in school does the same but is not as powerful as in the workplace. It might be that you don't even get to know how you have been killed (directly translated from Chinese saying 怎么死都不知道) in a working environment. Therefore, what i trying to say is we should appreciate the difficult people we might come across while we are still schooling. You can complain whatever and whenever you want but you must sure to remember to try to find out the ways to deal with them so as to minimize their harmfulness to the smallest. Then at least it is worthwhile to have meet them and got bullied. Overall, the quote which says "what don't kills makes you stronger" does makes sense isn't it.

After what I have just said, do you feel the same as I feel? School is not just to teach you knowledge but human relations management (HRM) skills too. There are way more types of people in working environment than in school and they are sure to be more despicable than what you will face in school. Trust me. So make yourself stronger and try to gain better immunity to these group of devils.

It has been a really long time since I last blogged. I realized many blogs of my friends have also been in the stagnant state ever since they graduated from polytechnics. I guess life is very busy after tertiary education and many of them are already in the working society.

I am intending to revive my blog but I am not sure how long I can maintain this. Haha. I am quite occupied with intense school work. To my friends out there whom are still considering of entering Massey: I admit that I am quite negative initially when school just started. Therefore, I have lots of negative complains about school which many of you might have heard of. Now that I am already immune to the workload, the stress I gone through are actually nothing when I think back. I really have learned a lot along the way, so it is actually worth trying. This is what I called, "What don't kill makes one stronger". So, forget about I have complained to you all previously. If you have the intention of applying, just go ahead. It might be totally different experience for you. I am glad that I have chosen this place and have gotten to know interesting and fun loving friends. They are great and will always be my mental support and driving force for me to move on whenever I feel the stress again.

Everyone is in the holiday mood after the modelling exams though we have got report before Monday. While doing my report in a super retard speed, I found two interesting websites which I wanted to share badly. The first one is a online shop which sells female apparels. I gotten to know about this website through the TV programme shown on Friday. The clothes are mainly vintage style and they are really lovely. The pricing is not very expensive too. The second one is a blog of a taiwanise. She become very famous recently for slimming down from 51kg to 44kg. I know that's nth but to girls, losing weight is always a big issue. Worth trying out her recipe because she never really starve herself. She followed the Atkins diet which is not exactly healthy in long term., so i think one should not overdo it. At the cross road and getting nowhere

It's has been a long time since I last blogged. Well, I finally found myself a receptionist cum admin job after a month of job searching. Although the work place is quite a distance from home, it's better than slacking at home and waste time. The recruit agency really knows how to suck blood during this recession period. They are like taking 40% of part-timer's pay. While you are thinking this is really a lot, I can tell you getting a full time job through the agency is even worst. I heard from my colleague that the agency is taking 80% of her 3 months pay. I am wondering how she is going to survive for three months, feeding only on water I guessed. What can we do in this period of recession? You can only find better jobs nowadays through agency if not it's hard for you to get yourself employed.

Talking about university admission. I am starting to regret entering polytechnic. Local universities just look down on polytechnic students. My advice to the fellows O level students is that if you are sure that you can maintain a GPA of 3.9 and above throughout your poly life, then entering polytechnic should not be a bad choice for you. However, if you are an average student like me, getting nowhere, please take serious consideration before you make your choice. I have been feeling quite depress lately especially after that NUS interview. Now, I am thinking whether should I continue with studying or find myself a full-time job first. I hate this feeling of being average cos being "not bad" is not enough. Universities are looking for elites not students. Not bad is categorized as bad in uni. What should I do? I am getting nowhere.

My internet connection has been acting weird recently. I wonder if the major reason is with the internet provider starhub. This problem has been persisting. It just keeps coming back and gives me headaches. Singnet seems to be better because most of my friends who are using singnet have got no problem with their connection. How bout yours?

Anyway, I am already feeling the aura of recession in Singapore. Part-time jobs are so difficult to find. I guess u need recommendation if not it is really hard to get a job by yourself. Can any kind soul please give me a hand. I just need to job!!!!

I had this sudden motivation to change my blogskin today. Then I realized the reason as to why my blog can never be archives was because the function had been disabled. Stupid right? I have been blogging for this long, yet I only realized it now. Out of bordem, I slightly read through some of my oldest entry. Oh my! Now I realised how childish I used to be and all my entries filled with lots of dots and I dunno why.

I am taking Basic Theory test tml and yet I am here changing blogskin and posting. What is happening to me? There is so much to remember!!!! Wish me good luck. Anyway, my parents are away to attend a wedding in Malaysia for four days. It seems like I am left all alone at home with the two idiotic bullies. They are none other than the torturous dog and my invisible brother. I felt as if I owe them in my previous life. That dog kept pooing and peeing everywhere in the kitchen. He likes to do it especially under my nose but there is no used wacking him because he just won't learn. Next is my brother. He is really getting on my nerves. I was trying to be nice to stir fry some nuggets and hashbrown for him to eat before he go to work. Basically, you know those things are par-fried and frozen but I didn't want to fry it cos it will mess the kitchen up. So, I defrost with the microwave and then stir fry them. In order to ensure whether the centre of the nuggets are heated up (not cold), I used the sampling method where i cut up a small piece from one nugget with a scissors to try. That's the part! He consumed the whole plate but not that piece that was cut! After explaining to him that I never bite that piece but cut it, he still refused to eat and rushed off to work. He really had this "over reaction" with cleaniness of food but in a weird way. There was once he complained a bottle of milk which was just freshly opened by himself had unknown bubbles/ foam on the surface. Then he rejected the whole 1 litre of milk saying it was a defect. If he ever work in any QC department at Government Authorities, I guess the public of that particular country will starve to death with his super stringent quality checks. Thank god, I am not him.

I have just watched a Taiwan entertainment show. In this show, they invited a Chemistry Professor to tell them how some manufacturers or stall holders go about doing food adulteration. Let me tell you what they did?

These are some common products that ppl usually consume. These evil manufacturers can product a common product totally without using any ingredients related to the food products. As we know, colourings and flavourings are used by manfacturers to add on to the flavour of their real products. However, some evil manufacturers use solely artificial flavourings to produce food products in order to save cost. (As you know raw ingrdients are getting more and more expensive)

Food Product No. 1 : "Chemical" Coffee

What does it contain?
1. Caramel colouring (for the brown colour)
2. Chemical caffaine (added to fake coffee when it comes to food testing by govt)
3. Artificial plant-based protein AKA Creamer
(Have been widely used in industry as non-dairy creamer to cater vegetarian. It is safe and approved by govt organisation. However, if manufacturers are getting cheap source of it, melamine might be present)
4. Chemical coffee flavouring

When all these ingredients are added...There is no different from real coffee. Through naked eyes and tasting, you will not know that this coffee contains no trace of coffee beans. This scenario will most likely occur in instant coffee powder or ready packed coffee.

Food Product No. 2: Faked Yam paste

What does it contain?
1. Corn flour
2. Artificial yam essence with colourings (produced chemically not from any trace of yam)
3. Water

End product smell, taste and look exactly like yam paste. However, no yam was used.

Food Product No.3: Faked Dark Soy Sauce (worst!!!)

Information of this product was widely spread through E-mails only. So far it has not been reported. Somehow, the chemistry professor believe that it is possible.

Guess what raw ingredients they used to make this "special dark soy sauce"? Of course not soy beans! If not why I call it SPECIAL. You thought it will be some other food grade ingredients although the original food ingredients of a dark soy sauce is not used.

WRONG!

They used human HAIR to produce the dark soy sauce. Why? According to the chemistry professor, all the other ingredients used in the soy sauce (from colourings to flavourings) are chemical so most likely they do not have much nutrition content in it to fit the definition of the product. The raw ingredient to produce dark soy sauce is soy beans, this means that protein content of the product is high. So evil manufacturers add human hair which contain amino acids to make up the protein content.

Why sample testing cannot point out their evil doing?
Most of the time, labortary testing is unable to test out the exact ingredients used. What they test is the amount of the nutritious content. For example, protein, carbohydrates contents in this end products. The amount tested out are then used to estimate the type of raw ingredients and amount used. Generally, no one will expect non-food ingredients to be added by manufacturers to fake the content and hit the standard levels that the ingredients contribute. In the first place, how can we even think that this ppl with super brains will ever do such thing and the end products cannot be differentiate with layman observations?

After watching, I am starting to get suspicious of food I eat. Especially, processed food(ingredients' orginal form are nowhere to be seen) in liquid and powder form. Beware, these products might not be even food in them.

Dear all,
especially parents out there,
Please beware of receiving fraud phone calls telling you that your son is being kidnapped by them (loan shark).

Description of the scenario:
Once you pick up that call, you will hear someone crying miserably saying,"mum help me!!! You really must help me!" Then the person on the other end of the phone will claim that he is your son being kidnapped by 2 people and whacked brutally. It sounds like he was really in pain. You could also hear in the background that the place seems to have a lot of people there, really what a scene of underworld meeting place seen in movies.

Then the person who claimed to be your son will say these people are loan sharks and they want you to give them money in order to save him. If you ask them where is his place, he will say in some basement but he will not reveal the exact address. His excuse was that he dared not tell you because he is afraid that the "loan shark" will bash him up even more. When you asked "your son" to pass the phone over to the "loan shark", another person will pick up the phone. He will start off by saying that your son is in his hands and he owned him money for 2 months already. He will ask you to send money in order to save "your son".

There is no way you can trace the phone call as the number on the caller ID shows "Out of area". Furthermore, please try as much as you can try to make him find the loop holes of what he said. I know at that kind of condition, you will be very panicked. I recommend here you to remember to ask them if your son name is tom or harry. Give them any name you can think off as long as it's not your son's name. If he says yes I am that person then you can hang up the phone immediately with no worry at all.

My mum just got a call like this today in the morning. So beware of phone calls you pick up especially in the morning.

Just happened to watch this TV show featuring this amazing couple who live in America having a total of 15 children, the oldest son is 16years old and the youngest one is just a newborn. Out of the 15 children, there are two pair of twins. The father is the only breadwinner in the family and the mother is a housewife. They never hire maid at all. The amazing thing was they bought groceries in cartons, not just for some items but all items in the list in a single trip (total about 6 shopping carts). They spent around US$800 plus in a trip. The pantry in their house looks some sort like a mini-mart with all the food items neatly sorted onto the shelves. They even practice supermarket's system, having the father to do stock checks as well as children helping to arrange newly bought items to be placed behind the old ones. Cool right?

That's not all. Soon they will be moving to a new home where the older children have helped out to build but of course not the renovating part. This new house have 9 bathrooms!!! The house is really very big, the size of a hostel for 10plus ppl.

I am really curious what is their monthly expenses like? They have about 7computers in their study room for the children to use together. This couple also let each and every child to learn piano and violin. (You should know that learning music can cost a bomb for a single child)

I am sure that our government will definitely loves to have couples like them in Singapore. This make me wonder, if couples like them really exist here or they were to live in our place, how are they going to solve their housing problems? With scarity of land here, it's impossible for them to own a piece of land to build their own house with custom size. If they were to buy private housing, for example, terrance house. They might need to buy more than 1 of those terrance houses and you know the housing price here also cost a bomb.

It quite interesting to know that couples who are willing to have so many children still exist in this modern developed country. The salary of the husband of the family must be a lot. If not how is he able to raise 15 children with all the children having fairly high class education.

I used to think that my life is very empty. Somehow, I feel that my life is rich actually. Thanks to all my friends around me. They are the ones that filled my days. I wouldn't know what will it be like without them and I don't even want to think about it.

This is the best Birthday I ever had in my life. Thank you Qiu Xuan and Wanni for planning the celebration. Frankly speaking, dear Qiu Xuan can't lie. Everything is written on her face but that's her good point! Haha. Thank you Kai Bin too!!! My best partner ever! Hope the project can end without any regret. Last of all, thank you Xin Hui, Faustine, Yu Ting, Gabriel and Wei Sheng. All of you have made my day. I was so shocked to see so many ppl especially xin hui and faustine. It was out of expectation. The fruit pie was nice too so is the "dog". haha. Great day. The only one thing that I am not very happy with is that I am a year older already. Time files, really!

Wanni's birthday

First of all, Happy Birthday Wanni!
A group of us, Yu Ting, Gabbriel, Lin Liang, Qiu Xuan, Wei Sheng, Kai Bin and I celebrated Wanni's Birthday yesterday. The original plan was to surprise Wanni by Qiu Xuan luring her to Spageddies at Paragon. However, Qiu Xuan is not a successful liar, just a very honest person. Everything became so fake but it was fun! Hope Wanni enjoyed our so call "surprise".

Overall, the celebration was good just that a waiter at spoilt our day. Qiu Xuan ordered a cheesecake online for Wanni and asked the restaurant to store it first before we finished dinner. After failure in giving signal to the waiters there to bring the cake out, the waiters there apart of spoiling our plan, one whom brought the cake out spoilt our day. The cake was a medium size home-made style oreo cheesecake, not much decoration on it just a cake with a black oreo layer. The waiter served the cake to us and he commented, "Did you all bake the cake yourself?".
"So plain! Should have tell me earlier, I decorate it with cherries and whip cream for you, it's free somemore." Being a customer, after hearing that how would you feel? That's not the worst of what he commented. He walked to his colleagues and commented further,"Must be because the Birthday girl not popular, that's why the cake like that." Hey, like what Gabbriel said, we are the boss of his boss and this is the attitude he gave us? How you think the Birthday girl will feel, commented so loudly somemore. You think we are deaf? Better watch out, I dun think your job can last any longer with this attitude.

Kimchi Competition Part II

Continuing from the entry yesterday. As many people know, NYP got 1st prize and third prize. Haha...As for us? The only NYP group that lost the competition. Come on...What you expected out of merely 3 days of preparation compared to their 3 weeks? I feel that they deserved to win from the bottom from my heart although I felt a little dissappointed.

So, we came out with some reasons why we didn't win.
1) we got 3 days of preparation only

2) The winning dish will be sold in the cafe for 2 months. Remember I mentioned that the cafe do not have an oven? I am sure they won't invest for a oven just to sell pizza for 2months in the cafe. It's not profitable. Hence, we will not be number 1.

3) Kimchi ice cream is something new and interesting, so they deserve to win a prize. I felt a bit disappointed for them. They should have gotten 2nd prize but somehow the batch of ice cream they made for competition that day, the kimchi taste wasn't there. I wondered what could have gone wrong. The one I tasted in the lab was okay. The judge sure will not give them 2nd prize cos if they did, the winning SP team will be 3rd prize. Then they will start to complain: Why their ice cream which does not have any kimchi taste can get 2nd prize but their dish which fitted the theme of the competition got 3rd instead.

4) Since there were only 3 prizes, NYP sure will not win all 3. If not, SP will lose face. Must give them at least a prize to make them look nice.

Okay, that's about it. Kai Bin and I still got the $88 Tong Shui Cafe Vouchers. We are going to spend this with the people who put in their effort in making the pizza possible. Sorry that we have made all of your effort gone to waste. If all of you all able to participate the competition yourself, the result might not be like this. Lastly, to the other 2 groups, CONGRATULATIONS!

Kimchi competition

I am updating this blog entry in school. This is already the 3rd week since FYP started. Many things had happened last week. Kai Bin and I were being conned into participation of the kimchi compettition held by Tong Shui Cafe. Actually what happened was that the teachers and TSO came out with the kimchi pizza recipe. The rules and regulations of the competition was that the participants (group of 2) must be students from the school. Hence, they registered the recipe under names of two participated year one students, meaning the students are sending two dishes enteries for the competition. They thought that maybe only one will be chosen into the finals. However, all the enteries sent by NYP were accepted. Therefore, Kai Bin and I were asked to help represent for the dish. I suspect that all the enteries sent by all schools entered competition because there were not much enteries. Evidence? From rules and regulation, the organisation was supposed to choose 10 groups into the finals but on the day of briefing at Tong Shui Cafe, there were only 8 groups in the competition.

What happen on the day of briefing?
They brief us on how will it be like on the compettition day held on 16th June 2008. They went through with us some of the main rules and regulation. On the compettition day, the cafe will be closed for the compettition from 1pm to 6.30pm. Each group will be 30mins to prepare 2 sets of the particular dish. Initially, they wanted us to cook everything from scratch. Come on! What can you expect from 30mins??? They thought making pizza is so easy. Proofing of dough alone takes an hour. After discussing for a while, they allowed us to bring pre-make dough. The time is still insufficient, baking alot takes 20mins and this pizza recipe doesn't only use ready to eat ingredients as toppings like normal pizza. The kimchi mix has to be cooked with other stuff, the chicken must be stirred fry and the crust must be stuff with the kimchi mix (the main attraction of the pizza that make it stand from other pizza). The organising comittee said that we die die must at least cook something here at the competition. If everything is prepared in school, there will be no point in joining the competition. Therefore, we decided to stir fry the chicken there but the kimchi mix must be prepared in school because 1) We only about 10mins to do everything so that there will be sufficient time to bake 2) If we stir-fry the kimchi mix there, the mix will be too hot for us to handle when stuffing the crust.

After solving this, another ridiculous problem had arised. The cafe do not have a proper oven for us to bake the pizza. At the beginning, they asked us to use a toaster (fit the size of 2 slices of bread) to bake our pizza. Upon hearing that, I almost fainted. I was like,"what? How you use a toaster of that size to bake a pizza? Worst, 2 sets of pizza? Why not u try baking a pizza urself first before asking me whether I can bake one with that?". I kept complaining until they said the owner of the cafe has an oven at home which can bake a 18inch pizza. Kaibin and I thought that the oven should be those typical ones that our food lab has but on the D-day, the oven was just 3 times bigger than the toaster. Luckily, our baking trays can still fit.

Black hawker food stall

To all my friends and also the people who dropped by my blog my chance. If you by chance coming to dine at Yishun, please boycott the 煮炒 stall located at block 418. It is located at the coffee shop opposite Kim San Leng coffee shop. The prices of their dishes are ridiculous especially when you order food not in the menu. My family went to had dinner there on Sunday. We order 2 dishes from the menu and the third one we decided to eat something else. We wanted to have vegetables and we came across a dish from the menu, broccoli with scallops which cost $13. As we are not really into scallops, we requested to change scallops into prawns instead. Then the waitress recommended us to have broccoli with prawns and vegetarian doufu(mock meat). Since she recommended and it sounds okay to us, we accepted the recommendation. Guess how much they charged for this particular dish? $18!!! For god sake, how can prawns be more expensive than scallops and the vegetarian doufu in the dish was just a few pathetic pieces I can find. I am wondering if their vegetarian doufu are plated with gold or the prawns they used are from Europe?!?!? The price of this dish is even more compared to having one whole fish. They are surely overcharging. Please boycott this stall! They are cheating your money. The dish wasn't really nice till they worth the price. This freaking stall is only located in a coffee shop not a big hotel where chicken rice is charged $8 per plate. My mum went to asked and they explained that the price of scallops and prawns are the same.Adding the few pathetic pieces of doufu will add cost $5. The normal price of doufu with broccoli is already $8. WHAT THE HELL! THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY CHEATING. I wish I know where to log the complains to and blacklist them. Was it the consumers' association or sth?

HOPE THE STALL CLOSE DOWN SOON, SO LESS PEOPLE WILL GET CON. STALL OF THE BLACK MARKET.

A fruitful holiday in this week

This is already week 8 of the Industrial Attachment Programme (IAP) and labour day falls in this week. Unlike school days where everyone hates public holiday (cos the whole timetable is mess up and lessons need to be rescheduled), I start to love public holiday. I can go out to meet my friends that I never get to see for a long time.

For this week, I went to vivocity with my collegue after work on Wednesday, shi hui from NSC to watch a korean horror movie, Hansel and Gretel . Finally found someone who is willing to go watch horror movie with me. Yeah! Initially, I thought that movie is about ghost and should be very thrilling but it turns out that the children aren't consider ghost. They are just trapped in their world by a curse. The movie turns out to be quite touching in the end and not really scary. Overall, the movie is still nice.

On labour day, which is today. I went to Marina Square with another collegue, Vanessa from NSC (another intern student) for K box session. It was enjoyable! She really can sing well and she is a hardcore SHE fan. Cool! I had dinner with her later on at a Japanese restaurant, Pasta de Waraku. We decided to eat there cos the display of their pasta outside the shop were too tempting. I guessed I have over-eaten, I felt so full till it was hard for me to even stand properly. It felt as if my stomach is going to explode anytime. OMG.

Dun mistaken, this is not what I had in the restaurant. Cheesecake from restaurant dosen't look this unappealing. This is my first attempt to bake a Japanese cheese cake myself on Sunday, so although it looks like that but at least it taste like a cheesecake. I almost thought that the cheesecake is not edible. Well, if u ask me why...It's a long story...

Well, for this week, considered quite a number of activities for me. Firstly, on Wednesday we went to visit Food and Hotel Asia (FHA) exhibition @ EXPO. All 7 halls at expo are occupied by this event, so you can imagine how grand was this event. lolx... A lot of equipments, culteries, plane seats, wine and of course FOOD exhibited there. These are some of the pictures I took. Visiting the place as a student really feels inferior. You can sense most of the exhibitors unfriendly attitude towards us. How depressing....

Hambuger Cake!!! Isn't it cool? It's actually a mousse cake with edible paint sprayed on it.

It has been 3 weeks since I started attachment. Thinking back then the day before attachment started, I was really nervous and excited but now I am kind of getting used to the environment there. Other then the travelling time that i hate every morning, everything else was fine. At least, everyone there appears to be friendly. I really learnt a lot of things till I almost could not digest in a day for the first 2 weeks. However, starting from week 3, it seems that I am repeating what I have been doing previously. Now I am kind of worried what new things can I write into the log book for week 3. I do not wish to write a duplicate content of previous week. Recently, a part timer who was in charge of the sending of samples oversea as well as ordering samples had resigned. So, I was asked to do the things she left undone on her last day (which I don't even realise until the next day) of work. My major task became a parcel packing person. I packed a lot samples into boxes with bubble wrap for 2 days and more should be expected next week. =.= If this go on, I can switch my field to work for DHL instead. Furthermore, what can I write in the log book to make it sounds like I learnt something and it is related to what I studied.

Weekly target: Understand the principle of packaging

Summary of task:
Done packing of different types of materials into boxes. Different types of materials namely glass, plastic and aluminium has different factors to consider when packing into box. For instance, glass is a very fragile material, so the thickness of bubble wrap used to wrap them before putting into the box is critical. It is also important to make sure boxes are filled completely with no spacing left to minimize the movement of the materials in the box which may led to damage. The size of the box used to pack the amount of samples for each order is also important. This ensures maximization in the usage of resources and thereby effectively reduces the cost of operation as well as saving energy.

Oh well, frankly speaking I quite like doing packaging other than the DHL system and invoice which I feel the responsibility and stress when doing the registration of each request order.

My lecturer in-charge, Mdm Tan came on Thurs once with Ben and Faust for a briefing. I talked to her on Faust's Hp when they were on their way to NSC. However, she addressed me as Melissa Chan. I told her I am Zhen Hua. She said that she was just dropping by since she had to attend a briefing at NSC and she will not visit me next week (visit of in-charge students is suppose to be next week). However, on the following Thursday, she came to NSC again and looked up for me in the main office. I was pondering why she came when she said she won't. You know what? ??? She came to look for me just because she do not know how to get to gemini where Melissa chan is. She thought i might know the direction to Melissa's place.

The most amusing thing that day was that she told me she called Melissa a few mins ago but she did not pick up. Then she asked me for Audrey's number. As the Hp was not with me, I went back to the lab to take it. To my surprise, the number that she called was mine not Melissa chan. It has been one week and yet she thought I am Melissa chan. I also heard from Melissa Chan that Mdm Tan kept assuming that Melissa chan is having attachment at NSC all the while. I am such a pathetic person right, nobody remembers me for god sake.

Time files, it's Chinese New Year again. I don't know why but it feels as if the last Chinese new Year Was just a few days ago. Everything that happen during last Chinese New Year seems still so fresh in my mind. I start to wonder: what have i been doing for the year?

Of course, I am not able to actually recall. Exam is around the corner and so is year 3 attachment. I finally got accepted by my attachment place, "National Starch". I am quite excited and at the same time scare. I am not sure how will it be like to work there. From how the in-charge describe to be about my job scope it seems that it's quite a heavy responsibility for me. Going alone to a stranger work place is considered a challenge to me, yet they said that I might need to do a project alone. That's what makes me worried. Even so, come to think about people like Xin Hui and Li Mei who are working at the same company yet doing different thing is as good as working alone like me. Besides, Xin Hui's work scope seems tougher than mine, somemore for 6 months with 3 months pay only. I should be glad already. HAHA

Hmm....well long time never blog too. Let's pose some pics to make the blog page nicer. Good Idea?

Just had a tiff with my dad, I sometimes or perhaps most of the time do not understand what is he thinking! Why he assume ppl who study knows everything. For instance, what I take is Life sciences which has nothing to do with Computers. How the hell would I understand the terms and instruction in those chim software where hell god knows what are they for. NORMAL PPL WON'T USE AND BUY THEM. THEY ARE FOR PROFESSIONAL OR SPECIALIST FOR SPECIAL PURPOSE. If you dunno what is it for, then why buy waste money and then blame me for nbot understanding the thing to help him install.

Don't ever try to assume that people who study ( can read) knows everything. Like that by studying in a course, we know everything on earth? Then why we need so many types of other courses and degree. Just study one will do, isn' t it? WOW, so worth it for you then. Pay just for 3 years course learn everything from science to computers and even to cars. Then no need driving lessons can start driving rite? Just read the instructions in the mannual, why need teachers then?

My first beer

Went to Tiger Brewery as a field trip with the sch yesterday. Everyone did not expect free flow of beer being served at the end of the field trip. There are many different types of beer for tasting namely tiger beer, heinken and many others. Had my first beer ever in my life. I never like the taste of beer from the start but Tiger beer is really too bitter for me. The taste of Heiniken is still acceptable. I drank only one glass of it. After this trip we then found out who are the good drinker in class. For girls, we have Audrey!!! She really can drink a lot. She drank 2 and a half glasses of beer within the short time we stayed at the bar. For guys, I am not very sure but I think Wei Neng drank the most. lolx...He tried to act drank in the bus. Very lame. On the way back, everyone in the bus were high.

Hello everyone,
I finally updated my poor blog.
Have been busy with work throughout the holiday.
Today is an off day.
Went to watch movie & shopping with my mum.
Watched the movie,"My DNA says I love You"
The whole theater very empty, only about 16 ppl I think.
However, the show was not bad.
It's featuring the future biotech field whereby people can solve all types of health problems with just pills.

Hmm....after watching the show I realised a fact. A quote from somewhere I heard says,"when you said a lie, you will need to come out with another lie to cover the previous one" Well,this seems no link with the movie.They have the same logic though.

In the movie there is this girl with super cleaniness habit. Because of this, she ended up breaking up with all the bfs she had as they could not stand her anymore. Later on she met her first love back in university times, they still have feelings for each other but the girl's cleaniness habit can't bring herself to accept the fact that the guy's untidy lifestyle. She heard from her friend cum colleague told her about a drug called anti cleaniness habit which helps solve/suppress super cleaniness habit.

When this girl know about it, she wanted to apply for the trial of this drug on human but she found out that the drug's test has been terminated because it has shown that the drug will cause some side effect upon animal test so it's genes have to be modified before testing on human. She still went to steal the drug and consume them. After consuming for a period, she became very untidy and the side effect is that she will keep eating and eating non-stop. Then she went back to the company to get pills that will make her full without eating. Again, this fulling drug has side effect too, so she started to nag alot till her new bf cannot take it. Later on, she got another drug that will stop her on nagging but the side effect causes insomnia, so she took sleeping drugs and snores loudly every nite. This is how she lives everyday by eating so many types of pills making her more stress each day.

You get what I mean? Since all drugs have side effects, you will need another pill to cover the side effect of the previous one. This will be a never ending like when you lie. Isn't this type of life tiring? Then what's the point of living?

D-day...Woohooo!

At 12+ am just now, the nyp E-service has been clashing. Why? Ahahaha...Don't you remember is D-day today? Meaning...RESULTS are out to kill!!! Arrrggghhh....This time I really own big time. I think my results only keep decreasing not a little better at all. Oh..goosh...I am leaving further from my dream of just studying in a uni. T__T Almost everything is a B. Now I see my affinity with the letter B. First of all, I am a blood type B+ person. This time my results are full of Bs. My dad's english name starts with a B. Okay lah....kind of think of it to type out, not really a lot. HAHAHA...But why I can't get to see more A????Why? Oh well, it's not surprising that my results gone down because I really feel I didn't put in my true effort into the final exams for this semester. I almost wasted all my study break days to slack. Someone hit me please! I guessed i need people to push me into doing that. My determination in deccelerating rapid, worst I don't think I much of it to start with either. I see my friends, they keep telling me, just study put in effort and hardwork sure can get high score in poly. Hey duke, what course are you in and what course am I in? However, what they study also very difficult to me. Where is my stand then? What area am I good at? I am starting to question myself on all those things. Have I chose the right thing? I am not sure already. Recently, after going out to look for vacation jobs, I start to worry about my future as in how to can a job to support myself. It damn hard to even find a part-time, full time will be worse with only a diploma. I dun want to go arnd just washing test tubes.

Earthquake!!!!!

My mother and I sense slight shakiness in the living room a few minutes ago. It occured twice. I thought I was feeling dizzy but then some of my neighbours called to ask whether we sense it too. Earthquake? OMG. I can't imagine and not mentally prepared. Yishun is so far from the sea, we shouldn't be sensing Earthquake happening in Indonesia.

Ok, next thing. I went for job orientation for Tori Q at Paragon today. They have nice uniform. However, I think I am not fit for the job. My memory sux like hell and then it will be rushed during lunch and dinner hours. I am afraid I might not be able to cope. I felt so useless.

Last thing, I started watching Jap version of Hanazakari No Kimitachi yesterday. I thought J-drama usually followed the storyline from comic very closely. However, this time it wasn't. The storyline is so different. Those who know the manga storyline, you should know that Sano injured his feet because of another girl right? The drama changed it into Mizuki caused his injury. Furthermore, the drama storyline of how Sano knew the fact that Mizuki is actually a girl is so different from the manga. Mizuki's brother in the drama already knew Mizuki is studying in a boys' school from the beginning that's why he came to Japan to get Mizuki back to America. After watching only 2 episodes, I felt the storyline is so rushed. All the thing I mentioned happened within 2 episodes. The drama has nothing about the school festival with Ms Osaka competition. Mizuki get to dress up as a girl because she was being sabotage by her classmates.

Hmm....I think that's all to say for today. I heard that results are coming out around 19th Sep....OMG....The day is nearing.

Yesterday was my 18th Birthday. However, i don't feel that kind of atmosphere. Maybe due to the fact that exam is just around the corner. Even so, I still want to thank those people who remembered. =) Unexpected. Those who should remember don't seems to recall (dun know where they had gone to) whereas those who I thought will not remember, to my surprise...They do care. After Yesterday, I realised I have should really start reflecting myself. Why hasn't I realised the concern that people just around me have for me. I am glad to find out some of them especially my brother. They look as if they don't really care usually but they will do things that touched you out of the sudden. I only have to say this: cherish the people around you. When you are feeling low, think about them and you will feel the hidden warmth. These are the people that worth your concern and worries, not those who don't even put you at their heart. Why make your life so depressing? Forget all those losers and cherish these angels in your life. They are the one that will make your day.

Anyway thank you Xin Hui, Faust, Benedine and YingJia! Do love really last? Or does it even exist? Why so many people around me are out of love recently? After looking at what they experienced, I am puzzled. If relationships make u depress, then why so many ppl yearning for it? If you noe you will hurt someone, why started it? if you can't keep ur promises, then why you even give those promises? Like what Faustine said before, people got into relationships for status, which is quite true. I mean you have living for more than 10years being single. Why some people can't stand to be alone? Isn't it not very logical? Being single is so much better, carefree and easy~ I don't understand why you people want to find trouble for yourself to handle when you r not even able to take it? In the end you are just straining urself fully. Looking at you all makes me think being single is a better choice. Things will be much simplier than it is. Sorry to complain again. I am such an annoying girl I know but I really want to post this!

I hate hypocrite! I don't understand why people have to comment things about me behind my back? If you have anything to say about me, I welcome you to say them in front of me. Since you wanted to comment to someone it means that I should really do something about myself, so why not just tell me directly so that I can change or do some amendments?

I hate people who talk bad about you at the back then when they face you they will act nice. They will act as if they really treat you as their friend, some even act concerning. WTF. Damn fake! This is worse than people who had undergo plastic surgery I tell you. These kind of people, no matter how talented or successful they are, they will never ever earn my respect. Because they FAILED AS A PERSON!!! Seriously, you should reflect yourself if you are one of this kind.

The first post for the start of 2nd year life

Second year's life is damn so busy. Mostly filled by CCA. There were many events going on and off ever since school started. Firstly, club crawl followed by orientation then childcare programme and there will be more coming up in a few weeks time. I really do not wish to get any long service award for cca like what many of the seniors had experienced. It's really not worth it because now even CCA points are useless shit to go into uni. I mean who will want to graduate later due to this kind of things. You? I shall post some pictures I can get from the others for the past events.

My school (SCL) started a new rule from this semester. Previously, SCL staff will fine $1 from students who do not wear their lanyard at SCL compound. Apparently, nobody bothers because $1 to us is bloody cheap. Therefore, they now increase the fine to $10. You can see how serious they are with this matter beacause they even designed fining coupons for this. The $10 fine not just apply for lanyard matter but also eating in lecture hall. Furthermore, staff can fine you not only in SCL compound anymore but anywhere they might see you in school. Obviously, many students are very unhappy about this.

Anyway, Faust, Ben, XH, YJ and Diane went watched the movie, "200 pound beauty" at Cineleisure yesterday. I can tell you it's worth to watch! It's a very nice movie. Like the previous movie we watched, ben and I were in tears again. Just that this time we cried over a person instead of a dog. HAHA. Just joking. I cried because I know exactly how the person in the story felt because I sort of experienced that before. Not the part where she got plastic surgery of course~~~ However, I can tell you that period was the darkest period of my life. This is what caused my self esteem to be super low. Therefore, I really do not want to repeat history.

Part of the movie, of course will never happen in real life. As in who on earth will support an artist with the whole body undergo plastic surgery and with that kind of sad life story being told. People will only think she is just a typical hypocrite who just wants people's sympathy. However, the message the movie had tried to convey was that man will accept people who undergo plastic surgery only if the person isn't his own girlfriend. I totally agree with this. It's the same logic where men like to see sexy women with as little clothes on as possible as long as it's not his girlfriend. That's the mindset in the current society.

Went to watch the speech day of OPSS at Victoria Concert Hall with Xinyi. I was wondering why the price of the ticket is quite expensive, after watching I noe why. And....It's worth it! You can see they put in a lot of effort for this musical. I heard from Xinyi that the performance the day before is different from today's. I wonder what is it about, shld be something very interesting. For the musical, I think most of the money are spent on composing those songs for different parts of the story and most importantly the recording made. It's obvious that most of the singing were done by liping but then those parts which were live, I really admire the person singing!!! Great! Know that I watched this musical, I realised that our school is full of beauties and handsome like the previous JMD. Hahaha. They had a catwalk in the musical and the models are awesome. Maybe next time can put all they pictures onto the school booklet to advertise the school and attract more new students. lolx... I even thought of the slogan,"Join us and you get to meet them" Then at below like what Sok Hiang said last time, "terms and conditions apply" HAHA. I got to meet a lot of the teachers who taught me before and a lot of juniors and seniors. Hope there be another performance in the near future!Cheers!

I felt the weird atmosphere once I stepped into OG yesterday. Lots of different brands of goods are either having sale or the ppl are busy in removing the stock from OG. Someone told me later that my brand turned out to be one of the brand which will be asked to be out of OG. =( I lost my job but I still need to remove all hard tags for them and packed them back nicely so as to send back to Waveline. I dunno I should be happy or sad cos this is a downfall of my job although I have considered quiting long time ago. I guessed this is an indication from heaven to tell me that I should do sth else. Maybe I should use the time to concentrate on studies or maybe learn piano that I always wanted to. I shall see how it goes.

Disappointment

I felt so useless today during practices. There are so much things that other people can do but I can't. I am so depressed. Come to think of that, I may be lousy in dancing compared to the others but at least I can maybe be better than them in some other ways just that the divison major thing is dancing which I am not very good at. Although I noe if I continue to try, I will make it. However, along the way I still cannot pass this barrier of myself. It's just a disappointment in myself that I experienced but I can't help it but to feel the depression inside my heart. 眼晴很容易又酸酸的感觉但却很难控制. I know scolding (not exactly scolding but maybe correcting using a harsher tone) is meant for our own good but still it just makes your mood swing low.

Belated April fool's day

Posting about my plain april fool's day but now it's already 12.51am, so it's considered posting what was happening yesterday.

Well... Thanks to the JMD seniors, now my legs are aching like hell. Standing and sitting are not a problem. The torture is when climbing up or down the holy staircase. T__T One word. PAIN! Ouch. My legs seem to be no longer mine. Now I really felt the effect that Sok Hiang, Chelsea and Yvonne had described to me. I am feeling the GAYNESS man!

Anyway, share with you all what I saw yesterday on the way home on the bus after work. There was this mum and a son in the bus. They were sitting seperately on different side of the bus. Of course, that's because there aren't seats avaliable for them to sit together. This child of hers is very hyperactive I can say because he cannot remain slient or stuck his butt on the chair for even a second. That's not the major thing I want to tell you. This boy is holding a chocolate bar and a plastic bag (small one, those that the stall will wrap your nuggets in). He unwrapped the chocolate and his mum forbid him to eat in the bus. She said,"Eat it when you get home okay!" Then the boy put the unwrapped chocolate into the plastic bag and asked his mum,"Ma, what I do with the wrapper?" You know what the mum taught the son to do? She said," just put it on the floor."

OMG. You see. The mum actually taught the son to litter in public. He is so young and yet his mum allowed this bad habit. I don't know what will be like in the future. More literbug in Singapore if many mums are like that? Mums undoing their job to nuture their children but in another way teaching how to do liter for the pleasure of convenience.

Tuesday
Together with XH, Benedine and Faust, we went to National Archives to find information of our NE project since our own school do not have them. The place is quite small but it's a very practical place I can say. No money no talk! Everything copyright. Anyway, we found a bk we need but we need the pictures inside. Hope that SAO has the book. *Pray* Then we went to catch a movie, "Hearty Paws" at Vivo where Wanni joined us. I highly recommend the movie to you. It's a very touching story. Everyone of us ended up crying except for faustine. lolx..

Wednesday
Went for JMD practice and realised that I can't really dance. Basically, I have 同手同脚 problem when I dance and I am quite stiff.

Thursday (Today)
Comitee meeting for Sakuran club. This is only the fifth day since we got the post but everyone was like thinking : OMG! How am I suppose to stay alive for the rest of the 360 days. LMAO. We will be working with the childcare located in NYP for a learning program for the kids there to help them learn about Japanese culture. Yeah! Have fun everyone! Suppose to meet Ms Elderweis, the in-charge of CCAs from SOA but the had a time clash with the meeting of the childcare in-charge of the programme. In the end, we didn't get to meet her.

To dearest Ying Jia,
There is something I really feel that I should be frank with you because I treat you as my friend. I do not want to be people whom know that you will not do well as a person with this problem and just decieve you with things you will like to hear. Because I am your friend that why I choose to tell you the truth even though they are harsh and after saying these it will risk our friendship.

It's okay that you said you want to go for JMD practice which is important but you do not need to come and show yourself for 2 hours for the project then rush back to school. By doing this you make me feel like I beg you to come and you are just "pity" (i mean 施舍)me. That's not the main point that I want to confront you about.

Now, the serious part. I have a burning question. Why everytime when you do project with us (faust, ben, xh and me) you let us feel that you giving us the 'bo chup' attitude? The irony is that when you do projects with other ppl whom also have the 'bo chup' attitude and they just pushed everything to you doing all, you will do your responsibility well and totally. I am puzzled. I don't know whether have I misunderstand you or what but from my view point this is what I think of your mindset when doing projects.

With bo chup people: If I don't do all the things for them, we will just die together, so I have no choice but to accept their bully. Then this is called important stuff to clear.

With us: Aiya...Faust, xh, ben and zh are capable of doing the things required for project. With me and without me got no difference Furthermore, I know they are people who take results very seriously, so they will sure complete the project and they are nice people so they will not abandon me, so this is classified under unimportant stuff.

If I interpret your mindset wrongly, I am sorry but this is what you really let me think of you after so many projects. I am not angry but very disappointed in you.

If what I said was correct, then I really advice you to ditch that mindset. We are not people with extreme kindness. I tell you, people are selfish. If you continue this way, your friend will betray you in such a way when they choose grp they will leave you out and have lots of excuse in order not to grp with you. You might end up no longer having grp members. We will not pity you and continue let you 'use' (sry for using the word but that will fully describe my feelings) us.

Lastly, I feel that it's better for me to tell you now then never or else you might lose out in the future. Please reflect about this and change before the worst thing might ever happen due to this attitude.

Just chatted with a friend and he told me he changed his hp number 3 months ago. Now then he tell me =.= I told him his hp number very unlucky. He asked why and I analysed to him. By reading his number, it means 久饿饿，灵恶恶，死吧 (prolong hunger, evil spirit and die!)! You see...how unlucky this number is. He said I am cursing him. Well, that's the truth. He said he chose the number because it's easier for ppl to remember. Ya, if he told his friends the meaning of it, they will sure remember the number forever. It would be hard for them to even have the chance to forget isn't it, so he should be glad that I told him that. =)

Saw my results once the clock strike 12am. I had mixed feelings after viewing the results. Have you seen yours? Did you do well or not? Basically, my GPA dropped that's for sure. However, I got my first ever dist and compare to semester 1 resullts, it's almost the same just that there is one module I got B instead of B+. That's the main reason for my GPA to drop. My results are somewhat being neutralised, so how should I feel now? I am puzzled. I am glad that I did better than my expectation. Anyway, it's over, so no point crying over spilt milk rite? Cheer u everyone! Faustine, have you view your results yet? She is so cute, I must say. She is so nervous over her results that she quickly scrolled down the webpage, view only the GPA and then close the window immediately. What to say? I have to tell you this. Don't worry my dear friend, I believe your results wouldn't be that bad. If you seen your GPA and never got shocked that means it will be alright. Trust me =)

Visited the dental today. Found out that i have 4 wisdom teeth(thanks Vanessa for telling me =)). 2 on top and 2 below. Dentist say have to do operation to rip open the gum if I want to remove them. Ouch!!!! You can think of how pain it is when she described the treatment. I cannot imagine if I really did that operation.NO WAY! Anyway, results will be out by tomorrow 12am. How is everyone feeling now? I guess you all must be very nervous rite? Well, at least I am =) Good luck! I believe everyone will pass but is the GPA that matters. I guess if you had put in the effort, the outcome is not really important. But why the GPA system in poly is so sucky? If you do not do well once, you will not be able to make up for it the next semester. =(

OG 3rd Birthday private sale

Today, OG is celebrating their anniversary. They have 20% +10% discount for most of the things or at least the brand I am working for had this promotion. For this special day, OG staff are made to start their day off earlier than usual and closes at 11pm. Luckily, my boss only require me to work from 9am to 10pm. However, my legs are full of accumulated lactate. I am not kidding! This will be what you will experience after standing for 13 hours during work and did not get a sit in the MRT till you reach home. In fact, I has been standing all the way in the MRT from Yishun before work, so it's more than 13hours of torture. What is more tireding is the way I get my stock from the store and entertain those extremely fussy customers. I hate the stupid concept of how my stocks are stored in the store room. Basically all my stocks are sort out by their designs in boxes and being stacked together. When I want to get one swimsuit, unlucky enough that design lies in the box all the way at the bottom. I tell you, sometimes you will not stop thinking of when will the storeroom being burnt down. I have carry all the other boxes out first before I can reach the one I want. If the store is spacious, that's not a problem at all. The big pain is there are other brand's stock lying all around. if you want to put the other boxes there, it's damn hard for you to reach and take the article with your hands and at that point of time, you will think why you have such short arms. Pathetic rite? I almost thought I will suffer from back injury after today's work. =.= However, tml have to still work. OMG! God save me!

A fun time at Sakuran's camp

Had a fun 2 days at NYP. First time to stay overnight in NYP after I entered the school. The night was not as frightening as what others said. Where got ghost? Bullshit! The room was very warm beacause as you all might notice the rooms at block E are all with fixed windows and no fan. To save electricity, aircon are off at night. Luckily, they brought in a fan! It's so nice to sleep. We went to bed after the AAA meeting (does that consider a meeting? more like crapping session for that panda who claims that he looks like L..waste my precious time). 3hours of sleep wasn't sufficient and after that we had a run. Long time never really exercise but I really appreciate that. Water game was fun! Guess my whole group "Tink" is proud of our tripod structure. Hit me! 打我！I will always remember that! My group members, Sok Hiang, Melissa, Geraldine especially are so adorable. We kept singing and joking throughout even during the treasure hunt the day before. Last game before I went home was the 'hell avocate'. The seniors made it sounds so dangerous. It turned out nothing to be afraid and worry about. It was fun! Although my group didn't win at the end of the camp, I am glad to know so many great friends from other division. 收获不少哦! Too bad that I couldn't stay throughout the whole camp due to work on Sunday!

First day of holiday! Friday!

A trip to Vivo City for a movie. It was fun. As usual, I came the earliest when I thought I will be late. In the end, the others turned up even later than me. I am all alone. It has always been like that. Sad case. Nevermind at least they turned up=). Faustine? Why you said you will join us after the movie but you didn't turn up? *disappointed* The movie, Ghost Rider was nice but too literature beacuse I don't know what they trying to convey throughout the whole thing but some scenes were frightening. Xin hui, very brave of you! Thought you don't like and never watch horror shows but yet you recommended me this movie. Improvement sia. *Claps* Vivo City is really too big. Benedine, Xin Hui and me were almost lost when we were finding our way to the food court for dinner. Luckily, we took the lift and we realised that the food court is directly acrosss the carpark.

Anyway, there are lots of things to window shopping for. Some of them are really nice especially the one selling wooden toys. They are so cute but way too ex,if not I will buy! The Toy'R'Us is really big and awesome. So cool! How I wish I can go back to the time when I am little. =) The pet shop there look some what like a smaller version of a safari zoo.

Sorry to say something not very nice on this day...BUT I am so dead!
I haven't studied even 50% for the Exams and Exams starts on this coming Fri. How???? I am in the holiday mode and I just can't concentrate. Oh gosh! Further more, my weight and my amazing appetite have been bothering me recently.

Let me tell describe what I have been experiencing. I gained like 2 kg only in 2 weeks. =.= Then I really don't know what happen to my digestive system. I am sick! I can only feel hunger. However, no matter how much I eat I won't feel full yet I am not hungry anymore, so I don't know whether I am full or I need to eat more. Then I will continue to eat and see how much more I can eat in order to feel full. But that never happened, so I gave up in the end. Then the weighing machine won't bluff...Can you imagine? I can gain 1kg after a meal. =.= Pro rite? I think I can go advertise for those "weight gainning" programme. How??? Can anyone tell me what is happening to be? What should I do? I am starting to feel meaningless to eat already...=(

I don't want a fat pig year...I want to slim down..Hahaha..But with my amazing appetite, I doubt so now. Ok...I have to study now while 守岁(shou sui). Use one stone and kill two birds.

I started jogging recently around the circumference of the park. Then I noticed this "Bangala" *dunno how to spell* worker whom I always see near the Safara area will always stop and mumbling himself when I jog pass him. I neva noticed what he was saying because I am focussing to my mp3's music. I know he is mumbling sth but I pretend I didn't hear.

Today, I went to run early in the morning again. This time I saw this "Bangala" worker again. He was in front, quite a distance away before I can jog pass him. He turn back and he saw me. Guess what? He stopped and was waiting for me to run pass him. WHAT THE HELL! Guess how I am sure he is waiting for me? I jogged into the park and he was like kept looking at me. How to see whether people dislike you in msn?

Firstly,they will usually never say hello to you unless you initiate it. If you initate it, they will just say hi back and that's it, nth more from them. This is when you normally will start to ask them questions like, "what you doing?", "How are you?"etc. You can expect replies no longer than 3 words. For example, ya, fine, okay, yup, lol or haha. From here, you can conclude that they want to end the conversation with you asap.

Sometimes, under certain circumstances, they might pity you because you seem wanting to chat with them more. Therefore, they entertain you a bit more then they usually do. You thought they will continue and you think you are thinking too much. They don't really dislike you. Well..think again.
After you ask more questions, they will reach a saturated point where they will stop replying you no matter how many tons of things you said. True enough, you will end up asking them questions but answering them yourself like an idiot talking to a wall. No! Even the wall is better than them. However, they will never reply as if they dropped dead in front of the com. Sometimes, if you are unluckly enough, you might meet people whom will offline without replying while you are waiting for a very long for them even just to say a hi back to you. When they didn't chat with you for a long time, they will talk to you more than they usually do when you inititate the holy "hi" word. After a few more sentences from you, they will go back to the saturated point again. This type of people will definitely end up in hell!

Okay, lecture shall stop here. All of you must trust me. This is my personal experience. Conclusion, don't ever waste your time talking to people who dislike you and try to change their attitude towards you. No point seriously! You can fairly well use the time you spent on them to make up you and their relationship to make more new friends that appreciate you. I guess that might be easier and shorter.

PS: To these jerks out there, if you are those ppl who at least reply no longer than 3 words, thank you for your effort. At least what we said pays off. If you are those ppl who die die don't have any reply, you know how painful it is if you were the the person, especially when it's someone you like? Put yourself in their shoes. If you are those ppl who will entertain a bit when it has been a long time since you chat with the person. FUCK OFF! We do not need your sympathy. If you don't like to chat with that person, then forever don't say a word. Don't chat with us just because you are bored or you want sth refreshing. Just care about yourself before karma strikes.

Firstly, we had our biochemistry presentation on Tuesday. Finally, ended. It can say the process of doing very last minute is tiring. That presentation almost drive me crazy! I thought we will be in deep shit because the teacher's USB port dislike Audrey's and my thumb drive. Luckily, We had Ying Jia 's laptop. Holy lappy came to the rescue =) Thanks dearest Ying Jia. We wouldn't have finish it without you. Don't worry that ppl will laugh at your 'zi lian" pics because they might be even longing to browse those. *smirks* Okay, I will reflect on how I presented. Once again, the 'bullet train habit strikes again'. What to do? I speak real fast if not I will be tongue tied. Thanks Audrey for ur art talent too =)

Secondly, We had our final Laksa trial on Thursday. After that day, I believed that inventions really come by accident. We tried apple stock as the base in laksa and separate them into two. One added milk and milk powder, another added traditional recipe, the coconut milk. It did not turn out nice but who knows when one of them mix them out of the sudden it taste heavenly good.

I have been wanting to blog a fact that Benedine and I had discovered during organic chemistry practical a few weeks back. However, I was too lazy to do so till now. =) *I am a lazybum*

Why Asians call a bruise green-black (orh zeh) while Westerners call it blue-black? After discussing with benedine, we came to a conclusion. Asians usually have yellow skins while Westerners have white skins. From your general knowledge on colours mixing, blue with white, you will definitely see blue but blue with yellow gives you green. Therefore, Asians call it green-black. Get it? lolx...Aren't we bored enough to wonder about this lame issue. 0__0

First project 1 trial

Our group had the first trial today. This session is quite fruitful. We tested different subsitutes of coconut milk in laksa. Actually only 2 other types which are skim milk and yoghurt. We are quite clusmy and clueless at the beginning of the practical but later everything turned out okay. The control (using coconut milk) tastes and looks like lontong at first but as we added more coconut milk into the soup to make it thicker, it returned to the expected appearance. The one using skim milk has the closest colour of a perfect laksa. However, the taste was real bland even when I added more salt. The last one using yoghurt, I quite like the taste. It tastes like tom yam but the appearance is not appealing as the yoghurt curds into lumps when cooked over time. I decided to improve the yoghurt one and name it as "Tom Yam Laksa". Must think of ways not to let the yoghurt curds. Maybe by blending skim milk and yoghurt to form a liquid might help as the yoghurt we used was those in a cream form not liquid. This might be the main reason they form lumps when cooked. I promised I will work out the recipe. =) Must really jia you. I am also thinking whether to replace prawn stock with chicken stock but I mum said it won't turn out nice. Nevermind we can do that next time, focus on the yoghurt part first. Maybe we will make our very own "Tom Yam Laksa" in Singapore.

Just to mention, I realised sth real creepy that happened on me. As you some of you might know, my parents don't allow me to wear contact lens this year. They say the "god" (they asked from temple) said I am not suitable to wear contact lens this year and I might be blinded if I wear them. At the beginning of the year, the brand of contact lens wash (i think is baush& lomb) I used was found to infect eyes of people who used them. I thot it was coincidence and that my parents were just supersitious. However, I listened to them and did not wear those contact lens until recently. Due to the fact that I felt my specs and my new hairstyle doesn't match and make me look like a nerd, I decided to try wearing contact lens ocassionally. I bought the AMO eye drop because I can't stand the dryness in my eyes with contact lens on. Guess what I saw on news yesterday? AMO eye solution products produced by Hangzhou plant were found to be infected by bacteria that can cause eye diseases. That bottle of eyedrop was produced at that place. Thank god I have stopped wearing them before this news was reported or else I might be blinded by then. 好的不灵坏的灵! This phrase is really true.

I tried to update my blog yesterday nite and the blogger website ended up having errors. Things I typed yesterday are all gone and now I have to re-type again.

Have you ever wonder what colour is caffeine? Well..yesterday, we did an experiment on extraction of caffeine from tea leaf during organic chem prac. Caffeine is actually white in colour. We found out that 10g of tea leaf contains 0.1348g of caffeine. Now you can roughly estimate how much caffeine we are consuming from each cup of tea. That's a lot!

Last night, when I was doing research for biochemistry report, I came across what I have been wanting to know for a long time. G6PD, the disease I had ever since I am born actually stands for Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase enzyme (G6PD). These are the information of the illness:

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is an X-linked recessive hereditary disease featuring nonimmune hemolytic anemia in response to a number of causes. The classic allergy to consumption of broad beans has led to the commonly used term favism, derived from the Italian name of the broad bean (fava). Patients are almost exclusively male, due to the X-linked pattern of inheritance, but female carriers can be clinically affected due to lyonization where random inactivation of an X-chromosome in certain cells creates a population of G6PD deficient red cells coexisting with normal red cells. G6PD manifests itself in a number of ways:
Prolonged neonatal icterus
Hemolytic crises in response to:
Certain drugs (see below)
Certain foods, most notably broad beans
Illness (severe infections)
Diabetic ketoacidosis
Very severe crises can cause acute renal failure
Drugs that have been linked to G6PD:
Primaquine (an antimalarial)
Sulphonamide antibiotics
Sulphones (e.g. dapsone, used against leprosy)
Other sulphur-containing drugs: glibenclamide (an anti-diabetic drug)
Nitrofurantoin (an antibiotic often used for urinary tract infections)
Vitamin K analogues
Several others[1]
Henna can cause a haemolytic crisis in G6PD deficient infants.[1]

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) is an enzyme in the pentose phosphate pathway (see image), a metabolic pathway that supplies reducing energy to cells (most notably erythrocytes) by maintaining the level of the co-enzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH). The NADPH in turn maintains the level of glutathione in these cells that helps protect the red blood cells against oxidative damage. G6PD converts glucose-6-phosphate into 6-phosphoglucono-δ-lactone and is the rate-limiting enzyme of the pentose phosphate pathway.
Patients with G6PD deficiency are at risk of hemolytic anemia in states of oxidative stress. This can be in severe infection, medication and certain foods. Broad beans contain high levels of vicine, divicine, convicine and isouramil — all are oxidants.
In states of oxidative stress, all remaining glutathione is consumed. Enzymes and other proteins (including hemoglobin) are subsequently damaged by the oxidants, leading to electrolyte imbalance, membrane cross-bonding and phagocytosis and splenic sequestration of red blood cells. The hemoglobin is metabolized to bilirubin (causing jaundice at high concentrations) or excreted directly by the kidney (causing acute renal failure in severe cases).
Deficiency of G6PD in the alternative pathway causes the build up of glucose and thus there is an increase of advanced glycation endproducts (AGE). The deficiency also causes a reduction of NADPH which is necessary for the formation of Nitric Oxide (NO). The high prevalence of diabetes mellitus type 2 and hypertension in Afro-Caribbeans in the West could be directly related to G6PD deficiency.[2] Some other epidemiological reports have pointed out, however, that G6PD seems to decrease the susceptibility to cancer, cardiovascular disease and stroke.[citation needed]
Although female carriers can have a mild form of G6PD (dependent on the degree of inactivation of the unaffected X chromosome - see lyonization), homozygous females have been described; in these females there is co-incidence of a rare immune disorder termed chronic granulomatous disease (CGD).

Today was quite a relaxing school day. Everything went smoothly and I kind of enjoy the time with my classmates. They are fun and chattable! However, semester 2 is kind of stress. I can feel the hidden pressure now. The common tests are in week 9. Now is already week 5 and I haven't even have the time to study. How???????? May god bless me! We discovered some secret admiring in class today. It was fun teasing.

Project 1 presentation

Time flies like rocket it's already 4th week ever since semester 2 started. Today is the presentation of our laksa project research. Although it's a small part, everyone seems nervous especially when the other class is like so prepared they even have skit and demo for the dishes. Interesting! Hmm...over all quite okay only that our presentation is kind of short compared to others. Some of the grps performance are very amusing and give people deep impression. Is this is a good or bad thing? I dunno. Well..everything is over must concentrate on the real product now. =.= Stress....still gt some other projects and reports to worry about. Arrggghhh

On my way home today, on the crowded bus, I saw this 2 couples. That guy very sickening I must say. He actually tried putting his hands into his girlfriend skirt but the girl stop him. What the hell, girl dun be stupid. It is obvious he is not serious about you. He jus wanted to take advantage of you. If he really loves you, he will respect you and will not do that in public. This kind of boyfriend you can jus ditch him!!!! Not worth it,gal. Seriously. 0__o He did that in public also, he might have the urge for something deeper (you get wat i mean?) and then just ditch you! Beware!

Stupid printer + a bias mum and a moron brother!

What the fuck!!! I want to do my report to the perfection I am also in the wrong. This stupid printer really gets on my nerve. I promised if you gonna give me problem like this I will make sure I smashed you up immediately. The black ink keep leaking when I tried clearing the print head but when I start to print it's blank!!! BLANK! No words, nth BLANK!! Thought by changing the colour ink will solve the problem because the black ink cannot start working without it's wife. Fucking printer! Printed Ali's report....I thought the printer is okay already. Who noes after I finished my report trying to print it. It went wrong again! AGAIN. Now gt blank ink comes out but the words only like dotz cannot see a shit! No matter how I tried the printer just play a fool with me. I begged my bro to help me print lah....It's really urgent! He printed all the pages slanted. For goodness sake, even blind ppl can tell you it's slanted. VERY, EXTREMELY SLANTED! HOW TO HAND IN LIKE THAT?!!!?!!!!!!!?!?!! YOU TELL ME?????? Saturday...in search of laksa

The weekend of second week of semester 2 appeared and time seems to pass quickly. Benedine, Ying Jia, Faustine and I went to National library to do some research for our food project because origins info of those dishes are way too hard to get from the net, hopefully we could find sth from there. However, not much of info was found, info of Nasi Lemak especially is zero. Hmm...Congrats Ying Jia! She managed to find her way on her own from bugis MRT to the library. Keep it up man! I dunno how long we stayed in the library but we left at around 3.40pm and then we went shopping at bugis junction. After that we had our dinner and then we went seperate ways. Faustine and I went home while the two of them went to orchard.

On my way home, on the MRT I saw these two ppl, a guy and a gal. They were sitting beside each other and I am sure they are strangers to each other. However, both of them felt asleep on the MRT. The gal was leaning at the side glass while the guy was almost leaning and managed to get repeatedly. (you know the action you always do when you are dozing off? ya..that's it) And finally, he leaned on the gal. At that moment, I was thinking. If ppl mistaken them as couples and saw that. It's really a sweet scene lo. Imagine you meet your Mr right like that...Isn't it sweet and memorial? Maybe these two will turn into couples in the end....hahax. I think I can go be script writer...heex..These can be a nice one.

We learnt about report writting for comm skill today and there was a part about parallelism of sentences. The teacher asked us to do the activity on rephrasing the sentences to make them meet parallelism. While I was trying to figure out how to, Ying Jia was using a ruler trying to measure the sentences. She was actually trying to see whether the sentences are parallel to each other. LMAO. See how cute she is! She thought that parallelism means parallel to each other. Faustine did not attend lessons today cos she went to help out the Jap club for the nbss visit. We told the teacher that faust was not here, she thought we were saying that the person register no was fourteen. Worst..she actually called wen wei as wei wei. So cute too! lolx.

School started at 9.00am today and what time did I sleep yesterday? Hmm...3am...so should be this morning instead. I really enjoy chatting to Ying Jia cos she is really KAWAII! She like someone from DMD and she is currently having the "hua chi"syndrome. Faustine, help her! Or else she might go mad anytime. Anyway, I went to watch deathnote with my Jap club mates yesterday. Highly recommended! Raito is really too intelligent! Ok I should not say more about the movie in case some ppl have not watched it. The "outing" was fun apart from that "seat under maintainance thingy" that made 3 of us act like refugees who keep moving places. For goodness sake why the GV sell ticket for seat that is under maintainance? I mean I pay to stand and watch the movie? Nvm...it's over already.

For today's lecture, we had biostatistics and damn it I didn't bring my lecture notes. *Forgetful* After that, it was cell biology lesson we thot we could meet our favourite lecturer Mr AK after so long so we were quite excited. Who noes? A unknown guy walked in...And we were like: huh? Mr A.K went for bleaching during holidays and he actually manage to slim down too. *no offence* We are just disappointed. Sorry! Now the next wrong thing that actually happened. We had organic chem lecture after 3 hrs of break. After sending away the god fairy, here comes a improved guy version of CHH. OMG! Can you just let us die? The organic chem lecturer actually had the jap-chi version of english. Out of 100%, I think I only understand maybe 30%? He pronounce bond as "PONG" Cool rite? Till now I still dun understand his sigma bond and pi bond concept after 2 lectures. Among all his slides, there is one which has the panadol picture and structure on it. He asked,"you know what is the side effect of consuming panadol?" I was like thinking: Hmm...maybe we will speak like you. lolx...*joking* I really dunno how I can pass my organic chem like this. I really dun understand what he trying to say. Dunno what sp3 then what bond of specific angle somemore. *Stress*

On my way home today, I met my Secondary school friends at Northpoint. I miss them so much!!! Glad they are all doing well. Work hard! =)

The 1 hr school day

We supposed to have lessons from 8am till 6pm today. However, due to the first week of school, practical lesson and tutorial today were cancelled, so we are left with biostatistics lecture. Proudly anncounce: We have a new Maths teacher! There is hope for Maths!!!!!! Yipee! The first day of biostatistics lecture and he treated us m&m chocolates. His lesson past so fast and we didn't realise one hour is gone. Hahaxx....First time that happens for maths lessons.

Second Semester started!

School finally started after a "long" break but I have not enjoy enough!!!! Heex. Today, we had Physics For Food Science, Biostatistic and Organic Chemistry (Prac). I am wondering why almost all the teachers I saw today are all those who have a "studied too much" look. They really planned in "advance". One of them already discussed about the change of time in tutorial during January 2007 when it's only October for goodness sake. Kinda of freaky isn't it? I felt that the physics practical is abit useless and a waste of time because those things can be calculated by a simple tool called calculator and many of us didn't bother to use the software for reference. I rather they teach us how to use microsoft excel to calculate and understand physics concepts.

Anyways, the haze was quite thick today making everyone harder to breathe, especially Ying Jia. Must take care ok? Do you need a mask? I can give u one if you want. This haze is making the whole environment misty as if we are living in some sort of dreams or heaven-like area. You know those heaven scenes you usually see in show? Something like that but it's not paradise for sure. PSI is like over 100. How I wish the PSI today can be my results...Not bad rite? **pray hard** Hey hey hey....stop here...Have to go do hw liao...buaiz~~

Survival tips for the day:
1) drink more water
2) Sleep early (impossible for me but still can try)
3) Wear a mask if you really cannot take it
4) No outdoor activity (does this include school?)
5) Go sell herbal tea, cos the sales double, so you can earn more profit.
6) Hire a doctor to stand by in ur hse (choose a healthy one or else even god can't save you during emergency)

巴士阿叔[Uncle in the bus] (Singapore version)

On my way home in the bus 804 today, there was this uncle speaking super loudly to his 2 other friends. I think he was drunk, I wasn't sure cos he looked quite sober but he behave like one. He kept saying,"nowadays, Philipines maid very cheap one! Got money can fuck liao." He kept repeating that until he alighted. The thing is he spoke super loudly and the whole bus could hear what he was saying. If coincidently there is any FILIPINOS present, what you think they will feel? He is such a disgrace to Singaporeans. I mean you got money so what?!?! You want find people to fuck go ahead lah....no need to announce to everyone in the bus right? Idiot!
